I'm as excited about wrapping up the BTS shots as I am about seeing the final production of the film. I know you guys are looking forward to having the final cut, but maybe these clips will tide you over. I've created a play list so one click will show you all 24 clips, or you can watch them individually here.

Rouge Draft review.
I'm too exhausted to write much tonight, but I wanted to make a note about to nights meeting. Most of the cast and crew were able to come over and review the rough draft. We also had snacks and pizza. We learned about the adobe tools. And, we did BTS interviews of each of the people that were able to make it.
Thanks again to everyone who was able to make it, and we hope to see everyone at the next meetings.

Each step is important
Shooting in a digital format saves a lot of time. It also allows crews to assume a lot on the set. It isn't until post production that you see where cutting corners on the set cuts the quality of the film.
Editing isn't easy. Of course, shooting isn't any easier. As I work with the footage we collected, I realize how important it is to spend the proper amount of time setting up a shot, and using the right gear to make things work. After Effects stabilization is amazing, but once you know what that effect is, you start seeing it everywhere... and once you see it everywhere you get sick of seeing it.
This project was a first for most of the cast and crew. This whole point of this exercise was to learn and grow and film makers, and we nailed that part. We took a script, did the work, and produced a movie. I'm proud of our work, but our inexperience shows.
The actors were amazing, and I have nothing critical to say about any of them or their work. The growth needs to come from the crew. Read on for more of my thoughts...

Movie sets and dancing
There is a lot of waiting around when one is on a movie set. A lot of crazy things can happen when you have a bunch of creative people with time on their hands. One phenomenon that seems to break out quite frequently is dancing. I'm going to compile a complete reel of all the dancing we captured, but for now, enjoy this spontaneous eruption of getting ones groove on.
Full Film - Rouge Draft #1
The cast and crew are very excited to see all of our hard work put into a format that we can all appreciate. Well, It's time to take a look at this baby's first step. The link below will take you to the first rough draft of the entire film. It's turned out to be 18:14 in this cut! This will obviously need to be cut down some, and there are many other edits that need to be made as well. Please ignore audio, as this is raw camera audio, and not from the dedicated audio gear. We will also ask that you forgive the shaky camera work. Much of this will be reworked before the final version is released.
Got comments? We want to hear them!

Coral the BAMF!
I'm far to sweet and nieve to know what a BAMF is, but if I was so worldly as to know what one was... Coral would be one!
Coral was our set manager, part of our sound capture team, and all around great person to work with. Here she is making sure that a certain pizza joint (who shall remain nameless) didn't screw us out of some extra cash!
WE LOVE YOU CORAL!

Range Life Status Update (2012.01.21)
Now that all the fun of shooting the film is done, there will be countless hours of editing that needs to happen to make the film the best that it can be. The problem with this part is that the art of editing is not a group project. So to keep everyone informed as to the status of the project, I wanted to start a series of updates.
I took yesterday off to enjoy some time with my wife, and to show her appreciation for allow me to work with the cast and crew for two solid days. Today, I'm taking it easy and getting things ready for the next few weeks. To that end, I've sorted all the video into folders based on the shot location.
Next Steps:

Today, I'm taking it easy and getting things ready for the next few weeks. To that end, I've sorted all the video into folders based on the shot location.
Next Steps:
- Now that I have the media sorted, it is time to get a copy out to everyone who will be needing it. I'm thinking that a group of us should meet at the coffee shop and bring external drives to transfer the data where it will be needed.
- Once all of the editors have a copy of the media, we will need to split up into areas of focus. First time editors will be given small parts to work with, so as to not overwhelm them.
- Once the sections have been divvied up, each editor will need to crawl through the video and verify quality and completeness of the scenes. This needs to be done ASAP.
- Each editor will need to put the video scenes into Premiere and start to sort out how they want the scene to flow. Once you have a proposed timeline, render the video out, and upload it to youtube.
- Once it is uploaded to youtube, let me know, and I'll post a link to it on this site.
- Once a clip is on the site, I'll email all the editors the link, and we can use the comments section of this site to offer reviews and suggestions.
- Once the suggestions die down, we will let Josh have final approval/rejection, and allow him to comment on the clip as well.
- After the clip has been approved, the editor will need to do some basic audio work on the clip (lining up any off camera audio sources).
- Once your project is tidy, I will need to get a copy of your project file so that I can combine it with the other sections.
- I'll be more than happy to create dailies, and we can watch them here or at escape as a group. The cast and crew are all invited to watch the screenings.
- Once the screenings have gotten the project to the point where Josh blesses it,
- WE SCHEDULE THE PREMIERE!!!

Teaser shot
What do see what kind of quality we're working with here? Check out this awesome shot! I can't wait to get this thing done.
I wish my cast was here right now to review this footage with me... I really think we did a good job. The next three weeks will expose the devil in the details.

IT'S A RAP!
Exhausted but happy, the cast and crew broke tonight with a complete wrap of principle photography. I think everyone had a great time! I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in whatever way they could. We had terrific actors, amazing videographers, and the most important people of all, the supporting cast. Without each and every person, there is no way this film would be where it is today.
NOW ON TO POST!
Keep checking back with the blog. I'll be posting updates with photos and video clips very soon.
