Shot List #1

SUCCESS = ORGANIZED CHAOS

Special thanks to Sam, Josh, Kevin, and Tracy for holding yet another pre-production meeting.  This time it was putting pen to paper and building up some shot possibilities.  The next step is to storyboard it up, and get it out to the actors.  What to see what the meeting notes look like?  Click link to read more!

Gear List

Movie gear is FUN!

One of the best parts of learning to make a film is getting to play with the gear, and we have LOTS of gear to play with.  Follow the link to see a full review of all the fun stuff we will be working with on this shoot.

Props responsibility

What do you need to bring?

As you are all aware, we've divied up responsibility for bringing props to the set.  We have compiled a quick list of props, who agreed to bring them, and what we still need.  Click the link to find out what you need to bring

Character list

Let's take a look at the roles we need to fill

We need to fill roles, and we need to fill them pretty quickly.  If you know ANYONE who might be willing to play one of the lead roles (even yourself) please continue to the website to look at the character list...

Suggested Dates.. Looking for feedback

A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE

Thanks to everyone who stuck around after class to help clear up some of the details.  We know your lives are busy, and we're going to try to be as respectful of that as possible.

Ladies and gentlemen,  This is exactly what dreams are made of.  Millions of people sit in front of their TVs and Computers wishing they had a spark that would trigger them to pull out a camera, call some friends, and actually make a film.  There is a lot of excitement around this project right now, and we need to capitalize on it.   Our goal is to have this movie published JANUARY 1, 2013!!!  That's right, we've got just under three weeks to pull everything together.

Keep reading to find out more about the dates we are currently suggesting....

Blog updates in your inbox

Want to get notified about new posts?

Because Google's blogger.com blog engine is so awesome, they've built in a way for you to get instant updates about new posts in your inbox.  For everyone associated with this project, please take the time to go to the blog's website, http://rangelifefilm.blogspot.com.

Once there, put your email address into the form, and then click submit.  Don't worry, if at any point you want to stop following the blog, there is an unsubscribe option in each email.

Again, everyone who wants to be associated with this production will need to follow the blog posts in order to stay updated on the progress.

NOTE: If you are receiving this message in email form already, you will still need to sign up to follow the blog using this tool.  There is a limit on the number of people we can email using the current tool (only 20 people), and that list is full.  Please help me make room in that list by utilizing the 'Follow by Email' feature found on the blog's homepage.

First things first

First meeting:

This is finals week, so there are a LOT of busy ladies and gentlemen.  However, for those of us in the Fall 2012 script writing class, let's plan on having a quick after class meeting.  We can come up with a time/date that will fit most of our needs for the first official meeting.  From there we will develop a list of schedule dates that can work with everyone's schedule.

Google Accounts:

For those of you who do not currently have a gmail account.  I strongly suggest that you create one.  It's simple and it's free.  The benefit is that you will be able to use google's DRIVE, which will allow us to instantly share document and hold web meetings (called hangouts).  Google's hangouts are a great way for those who can be at our meetings in person, to join via the web.  Please sign up for your gmail account today, and post the email address as a follow up comment to this post.  NOTE: No comments to ANY post will ever show until we explicitly approve them.  There is no worry that your email address comment will be made public.

Adobe Story:

If you are one of the few who still doesn't have one of the free adobe story accounts, please go and sign up for one now.  If you have (or just created) a gmail account, please use that email address when you sign up.  If you are not going to get an gmail account, or have already signed up under a different address, please verify that the address you signed up with is the address you are getting this email on.  We will need your story account email address in order to share the script and other data with you.

Role Assignments:

If you already know that you want to be part of a role, let us know... if you don't want to play a certain role, please let us know that as well.  Some of you have already spoken up, and we've filled in the role set for the people who have spoken up, but everything is still flexible.

Let's DO THIS!!!

Getting Everyone on the same page.

How do you get a movie from script to publish?  Yeah, we don't know either, but you've got to start somewhere, and for us, this is it.

What?

This blog will be the place we post new information about the production process of a short film we are about to start working on. Who is we?  A small group of college students who want to see what it takes to get a film done.

Why?

This blog will serve as the productions official way to distribute up coming information, and allow for us to all look back on the history of the production too.  This blog will have photos and videos of the the project, and include some 'behind the scenes' looks at the overall process.

Where?

Those that are part of the project will receive updates via email.  However, if you are a memeber of the project and want to share updates with your friends and family, send them to http://rangelifefilm.blogspot.com.  From there, they will be able to follow along with the saga too.

The default meeting place for the cast and crew will be at Escape Coffee Shop.  It's located at the corner of Bethany Dr and Jupiter (a couple blocks north of the Spring Creek Campus).  The actual address is:

When?

Updates will come out as there is new information to share.  Our goal is to publish at least one update a week, and hope to add many more updates than that.  The script has already been written, and we feel it's strong enough to stand on it's own at the moment.  However, as it progresses through the creative process, it might end up changing here and there.  Stay turned to this blog for more updates on when and where.

Who?

The official crew is still being put together, and roles have not been officially assigned yet.  The following is a list of names that we are aware of, that want to be part of the production. If we've missed anything or there are corrections that need to be made, please add a comment to this post.
